Soccer Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global break, however will the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

A family member told me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have have lots of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
