Renowned Actor The actor Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside entertainer Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday having undergone cancer treatment since 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a statement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous popular shows, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies include It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared on social media.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
