NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates features live text of the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available through designated networks covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the football calendar , following recent talk regarding two top teams as possible championship contenders, each lost their unbeaten records.

Notable during those contests were the number of penalties each conceded. Philadelphia did so in key moments meaning they kind of beat themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.

However it proved positive to observe that Denver's QB the rookie was able to overcome the shortfall and then direct three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the victory by four points.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in CB Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, and the Broncos prevailed in that battle.

They executed effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They did not always sending extra pass rushers but they could position two LBs in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.

At the start of the season, we said during a show that the Broncos might emerge as this season's dark horses. They ended last season strongly and did a good job of building upon that.

Could Denver be this season's dark horses?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has stepped up significantly and new RB their rusher is a player the team trusts. He now ranks fifth in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love how head coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver represent a squad that wants to prioritize the run, since one can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes while maintains in favourable situations.

It's also benefited QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have the arm strength to pass all over, but they lack the mobility as Nix. He has exceptional passing ability, which is different, and he's so athletic.

His strengths include his mobility, the capacity to pass on the run, and finding different arm angles to deliver the pass as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to throw that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he displays a lot of composure in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade being tackled whenever possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.

When you consistently rush it eats up the clock and forces the defence to stay in play extended periods, and when you've got a mobile QB the defence has to cover the area downfield and horizontally. It can be draining.

Nix has bitten back at Payton during games at times and it seems Payton likes that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for him to coach a young quarterback who's similar to play-dough. He can really develop him how he wants to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

The head coach owns a Super Bowl and now passed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix aids make him what he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team good enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're performing above average, that's a good place to be in the AFC West. All they need is is maintain this trajectory.

They excel at embracing their forte, that is running the ball, and this is precisely what they must do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team yet to win any game.

Ever since the league started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway through five games, this is kind of shocking considering that their new coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the division.

This hinges upon what version Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
