Recent details have emerged about the tragic deaths of renowned director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.

A source indicates citing a person close to the family, a practitioner scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after being unable to gain access the house. The therapist then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.

When she went into the home, Romy discovered her father's body. Reports state she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Another individual who had gone with her then dialed 911. Subsequently, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Proceedings

The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, including the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is now being held and is ineligible for bail.

Disputed Reports

The person close to the family questioned several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that juncture.

The source also disputed published notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the scene. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would be unable to attend until no sooner than Wednesday.
