Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health follows the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the fighter in the wake of the devastating accident.
